My world is not very big. I have a home and family. I am a child to my Savior, a mom to my 2 boys, a wife to my husband, and a best friend to my sister. I love my little world and wouldn't trade it for anything. What else is there than to love and be loved, to care for and be cared for, to teach and be taught?

Funky Hat
I pulled out my yarn today, and decided to make something. I wasn't sure what I wanted to make. LOL. I started, thinking I'd just make myself a scarf for Valentine's day. The yarn was too short, and I ended up with just a rectangle....
So, I made this.
It's a little babushka hat for me.
I've been wanting a hat that would cover my ears.
It bugs me to have a knit hat on, and it doesn't even cover my ears, and it squishes down my bangs. This little hat is going to be my solution. And the back is open, so I can pull my hair through. ROTFL.
FRONT VIEW.. the corners curl up like a little dutch hat, LOL.
I put a little heart bead on the one yarn piece, so if I really want to, I can pull it through the other corner, and have better protection of my chin.
SIDE VIEW (pretty boring.)
BACK VIEW, I just sewed the back bottom corners together, so I'd have the hair opening.

Can't Pick Her Up.
I still can't seem to find the right way to pick Frappie up. She's like a fuzzy water weenie, you remember those? You keep trying to get a hold of them, and they just slip out of your grasp. She has no scruff, and I don't feel comfortable picking her up that way anyway. I get under her, and hold her belly, and under her bootie, and she just starts flipping out, and squeezing out of my grasp. She scratched me tonight. I'm not bugged that she did, her nails just have to be clipped. I'm going to have to figure out though how to pick her up, so we're not having a fight. I bring her in the living room, and put her on the recliner with me, because she can't jump down from it. She sits with me, and I put her on my lap, and pet and brush her. She's fine with it, and she'll go and lay down by my legs, and be comfortable.
I think I have to get her new Timothy Hay too, I have a feeling this batch is not good, like it seems "overcooked" or something. She's not eating it as fast as the last bag I got her.

New Furniture
Well, we got our tax refund back, and decided we really needed new furniture for the living room, so that's been a fun project the past few days. My brother came over to help Jeffie put them together, and I just love them. We also have a bookcase, but it's not put together yet.
When we were shopping, Jeffie found this armoire, and when I found out that it could accomodate both the computer or the TV, I just asked Jeff if I could get two. I think they look cool, and they're exactly what I wanted. I can close them up when I'm not using them, and the videos are nicely covered up, which means Gabey won't be pulling them out as much. LOL. The TV and VCR/DVD set is new too. Our TV was so old, it needed an adapter just to be able to work with the DVD player we had. Did you know that the new brand name Insignia is actually Zenith, renamed? I didn't know that. I asked whether the worker knew about this brand name because I didn't want to get something that had no reputation, but Zenith has been around forever, so I was comfortable buying them.

We Got New Furniture Yesterday!!
We have been in need of a new computer desk, and an entertainment center. With our tax money, we've been looking to get new stuff.
Well, yesterday we found the nicest furniture!! It's solid pine, and hand waxed. Sooooo pretty. It was at Walmart, so we jumped on it. I loved the one armoire so much, and it's multifunctional, so I just bought 2 of them, LOL, one for the TV and one for the computer. Plus, we got a cool cabinet bookshelf that matches.
It's not up yet, and the living room looks so funny. I gave our other furniture away, so we'd have room to put this stuff together....SO.... the computer is on a tray, and the TV is on the FLOOR. ROTFL!! I'm so excited to have the new stuff though. I'll take pictures after it's all set up. We might be getting a new TV, and DVD player too, so I'm happy about that too!

Homemaker MeMe
Aprons – Y/N? If Y, what does your favorite look like?
Well, I have an apron, a cool Pampered Chef apron...but...I never think to use it, and instead wipe everything on my pants. ROTFL.
Baking – Favorite thing to bake
ummm, well, once in a great while, I'll bake a box bread, or a Tastefully Simple "beer bread" (using sprite, lol.)
Clothesline – Y/N?
No.
Donuts – Have you ever made them?
umm, no, but I love to eat them!! HA HA
Every day – One homemaking thing you do every day
I end up sweeping somewhere every day...with wood floors and a messy preschooler, it's inevitable!
Freezer – Do you have a separate deep freeze?
Yes, we have one, and once in a whle we get bulk stuff to put in it, but I always forget what's in there.
Garbage Disposal – Y/N?
NOOOOO, crying pitiously....That's one of the things I really want.
Handbook – What is your favorite homemaking resource?
Well, everyone's blogs are always filled with awesome ideas! I love you guys!
Ironing – Love it or hate it? Or hate it but love the results?
I have to admit... I NEVER iron! My hubbie irons his own shirts for churh. I just try hang stuff up pretty quickly (or wear it wrinkled. hee hee.)
Junk drawer – Y/N? Where is it?
Well, for me it should be.... if you DON'T have a junk drawer, where is it? ROTFL. No,really I have one junk drawer in the kitchen next to the sink.
Kitchen – Color and decorating scheme
Well, we haven't been able to do much to the kitchen since we moved in, so it's still white. I have an ivy theme though.
Love – What is your favorite part of homemaking?
The clean smells! I love candles, and clean clothes, and even the smell of bleach, LOL. It's the smells that motivate me to clean.
Mop – Y/N?
Yep, I have wooden floors, and tile EVERYWHERE, so I'm always sweeping and mopping.
Nylons – Wash by hand or in the washing machine?
I throw them in my lengerie bag, and throw them in the washing machine.
Oven – Do you use the window or open the oven to check?
Oh, I open my door to check, every time. You don't get the TRUE look through the window.
Pizza – What do you put on yours?
I adore mushrooms!!
Quiet – What do you do during the day when you get a quiet moment?
I go into the bunny room, and play with my bunny, and read.
Recipe card box – Y/N? What does it look like?
I have a big white plastic container that I keep my cookbooks in (on the fridge, that's how often you can tell I look at them.) and my cards are in a clear container that I got in the mail. I would have liked to continue with the recipe mail thing, but I did have to admit to myself that I never cook. ROTFL. So, I don't really need new recipes all the time.
Style of house – What style is your house?
I'm in a funky golden yellow ranch. I LOVE IT, but not the color... ROTFL. Someday, we'll have the money to put new vinyl siding up.
Tablecloths and napkins – Y/N?
How about paper towels?? I use either napkins, or paper towels... whatever is closest at the time. I don't have any tablecloths up now.
Under the kitchen sink – Organized or toxic wasteland?
I don't go in there very often. It is organized, but not very pretty.. just junk I never use, and need to toss.
Vacuum – How many times per week?
I have a few bath mats and a few small carpets, so mostly I just sweep them up, or use my manual little sweeper. I'm thinking about getting one of those little dust devil ones soon.
Wash – How many loads of laundry do you do per week?
I've never counted really. I just try to put it off, and then realize that I'll have to do some, or we won't be fit to go outside.
X’s – Do you keep a daily list of things to do that you cross off?
nahhhh.
Yard – Y/N? Who does what?
Jeffie and I take turns pushing eachother out the door to shovel or whatever. HAHA. I love to garden, so I'm in charge of the flowers and stuff. Jeffie was in charge of the lawn, but it never got done (in his defence, he works 6 days a week), so this year we're hiring a maintenence crew.
Zzz’s – What is your last homemaking task for the day before going to bed?
I go in and take care of my pets. I clean Frappie's cage, and give her fresh food and water, and give her a treat to put her back in her cage. Then I feed my fish, and turn off their light. That's always just about the last thing I do each day.
our friend at http://agracioushome.com/ provided this for us to enjoy. Feel free to pop over to read hers and a bunch more Memes from other bloggers.
