Argiope Spider

My neighbor has this monster spider in her back yard. I got pictures, and went right away to look it up. It's not poisonous, but MANNN, is it HUGE. It looks tropical, LOL. The body is as big as a dime, I would say.

Visit with Neighbors

Monday night was such a nice surprise get together. I was talking with my good neighbor friend, Terri, and we ended up hanging out under her Gazebo for quite a long time. Jeffie came over, and played on their trampoline, and as time went on, she started bringing out snacks leftover from a birthday party they had. Bert, and Eli from across the street came by, and Terri brought out hotdogs, and pasta salad, and we ended up with a fun little picnic.

Wedding Ring

My hands and feet were a bit swollen because of the pregnancy, and I read in a book about some women having to have their jewelry cut off. I definitely don't want to have that happen to my wedding and engagement rings, so I took them off, and am sporting them on a black cord around my neck.

I didn't have much energy to work on the yard this year, but here are some flowers and plants that have thrived through drought, weeds, and much neglect.

This Lamb's Ear is miraculous, LOL. I actually didn't plant it. I was in the process, and dumped it out of it's container, and then forgot about it. It rooted itself, nicely, and is just awesome looking. HAHA.

Snopes

I'm learning to check this site before forwarding emails. It's a great suggestion. My friend, Angi, led me to this site. So many of the forwards we get aren't actually true, and have been circulating for years. This site debunks all the urban legend email forwards. I've used it a few times, and have learned a ton.

Visit with Family

I asked my family to come over yesterday to help me with some stuff around the house. I haven't been feeling very well, pretty sore, and light headed. I need to be more consistant with my iron pills, and well, I can't really do anything about the soreness, except taking more tylonol. My feet and hands have been a little swollen lately too, so I'm just not up to par.

Well, my awesome family... my mom, my dad, my stepmom, and my sister all came over, and cleared out the spare room, and took down the shelves, and everything. They helped with laundry, and dishes, and spackled the spare room to get it ready to paint. I am so very thankful to have such a great family that will come and do work like that for me.

Chrissy went out in the rain with Gabey, and this time I joined them. It was nice and refreshing. We didn't get pictures, but Gabey got rain shoes on, and his umbrella, and splashed in the puddles, with my dad.

Street is Done.

Our neighbor will finally be able to go in and out of her driveway, lol.
They finished up the street with cement finally.
Here are some pictures...

This week...
Trucks barrelled up and down the street, and made a big hole in the asphalt, sooooo.
They had to dig it up again, and put more gravel down, and they put a grate down, and finally....

Tadahhhh! I came home today, and it was soooo pretty.

Gabey's friend across the street watched the trucks too... We played on his porch.

My Saturday...

Every Saturday, my sister, Chrissy comes over, and hangs out for the day. It's a day I always look forward to. Jeffie works on Saturdays, and without Chrissy's visits, it's just another weekday for me.

This Saturday, she brought me my favorite drink, Dunkin Donuts "Mocha Blast" with whipped cream and cinnamon on top. YUMMM. She also does Sunday School lessons for Gabey on Saturdays, and always brings a treat for him when he says his Bible verse. He can go back too all the old verses too, and he remembers them.

We chatted and hung around during the afternoon. I just love being with her.

Chrissy decided on a name for her new car... Bessie the butterfly. She brought supplies to make a mirror hanger, and I helped her make that. She did a cool craft with Gabey while I was working on the hanger.

Later we went outside. Chrissy got in a working mood, and started working in the yard! I was so excited to be having it worked on. She's so strong, and she pulled, and cut weeds, and the back forsythia bush, and didn't stop. She worked all the way around, to the horrible "backwoods" section on the side of my yard. I cut it all down a while ago, and it was back to being a jungle. She spent so much time just chopping away, and now that space is clear. I can't wait to get to the store and get the spray that my friend suggested to kill the roots out over there. There is a trumpet vine that keeps putting out wandering shoots, and a horrible wild raspberry vine with prickers, not to mention all the other various weeds that grow like wildfire in that section.

I helped with the weeds a little bit, and moved stones to put the fire pit on top. JEffie weed whacked quite a bit, and then built a fire in the pit.

I just love having a fire. It was a great night. We roasted hot dogs, and marshmallows. It drizzled a lot, but it didn't stop us from enjoying the evening.

Funny From A Friend

Thanks, Kristi! This was so funny!

Tithing Pays!

Two men crashed in their private plane on a South Pacific Island. Both survived. One of the men brushed himself off and then proceeded to run all over the island to see if they had any chance of survival. When he returned, he rushed up to the other man and screamed, "This island is uninhabited, there is no food, there is no water. We! are going to die!"

The other man leaned back against the fuselage of the wrecked plane, folded his arms and responded, "No we're not. I make over $250,000 a week."

The first man grabbed his friend and shook him. "Listen, we are on an uninhabited island. There is no food, no water. We are going to die!"

The other man, unruffled, again responded. "No, I make over $250,000 a week."

Mystified, the first man, taken aback with such an answer again repeated, "For the last time, I'm telling you we ARE doomed. There is NO one else on this island. There is NO food. There is NO water. We are, I repeat, we are going to die a slow death."

Still unfazed, the first man looked the other in the eyes and said, Do not make me say this again. I make over $250,000 per week... I am a Baptist and tithe.
MY PASTOR WILL FIND US!"

Another Rainy Day

I Love To Walk In The Rain
(Just Around the Corner 1938)

Lyrics/Music W.Bullock/H.Spina

Oh Mister Weather man
Where's that rain you promised me
Oh Mister Weather man
I've been waiting patiently
Mister can you spare a drop
Here a drop, there a drop
Two drops, four drops
Can't we have more drops
Now its all around me
Gee I'm glad you found me
------
I love to walk in the rain
Look for me when its stormy
Down some lazy lane and I'll be there

I'd love to walk in the rain
The lightning may be frightening
I love the rain so I don't care

I feel wonderful
When the sky's above are thunderful
I don't complain

I know its fun in the sun
But take all kinds of weather
When all said and done
I love to walk, in the rain
------
Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday
How about a week with every day a pitter patter day
I wouldn't complain .

It's been raining for a few days now, and Gabey and I have been opening the front door, and sitting on the doorstep to watch the rain. I need to get Gabey a raincoat, and rainboots, so we can go splash in puddles. :)

Andrew

My nephew, Andrew, went forward in the Thursday night revival service....

AND GOT SAVED!!! Praise the Lord!

Cookie Thief!

Pastor told a really funny story in his Sunday morning sermon. I've been telling everyone!

A lady was traveling by plane, and was in the airport waiting for her flight. She bought a bag of cookies to have a snack while she waited.

She sat down in a chair and got out a book and started reading. She reached over and took a cookie out of the bag next to her, and was shocked to see the man next to her doing the same thing!! He was taking her cookies! She didn't say anything, but she was burning up inside, how dare he take her cookies?? She'd take a cookie, and then he'd take one.

It got down to the last cookie! The lady wondered what the thief man would do, and .....
HE TOOK THE LAST COOKIE! He broke it in half, and smiled and gave half to her!

Inside she was steaming. She couldn't wait to get away from this guy!

Finally she got on her airplane and took her seat. After being seated, she reached in her overnight bag, and found.....
AN UNOPENED BAG OF COOKIES!!!! She had been eating HIS cookies, not the other way around!!!
ROTFL!!!

Great Sermon Tonight

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

(copied from my message board)
i just got done listening to the revival sermon tonight, all through august they're having special thursday services.

the sermon tonight was based on joshua, and had such a fantastic truth.

he compared the Christian life with the soldiers at Jericho, and how...
the first 6 days they couldn't talk or do anything..... they never knew the reason, they just had to obey. they were soldiers, but they weren't allowed to do anthing but just walk and walk and walk day after day.

our walk as Christians is not going to be filled with miracles every day, or excitement every day...
it consists of "walking around the walls" day after day.... we wake up, and do our routine, and stay faithful to the Lord.

our walk also has to be disciplined, it doesn't matter why we're supposed to be separated, and follow certain Christian values.... God said it, we need to do it.... even just to be disciplined, and strong for him.
soldiers aren't trained to question, and they're ordered to do many weird things, and the same goes for us. we'll never understand all the commandments of the Lord, and why we have to do things certain ways, it's just our job to obey.

we don't know the outcome, we just have to have faith. this sermon helped me alot, i mean, we're right in the thick of a hard time, with gabey being sick, and we don't know how it's going to turn out, but our job as Christians is just to obey God through all of this, and have faith in HIM for the outcome.

Date Night

Jeff and I had such a good date last night. Linda Mom came over and babysat, and Gabey was so good for her. They had a great time together.

Jeffie and I went to Vhoodah's for dinner, because my friend had told me they had sweet potato fries. We got there, and they had DISCONTINUED them! WAHHH. The food was great, I had a burger, asparagus, and garlic mashed potatoes. The interior looked so cool, there was an arched fish tank that you could walk through! The walls were recreating the Mayan chamber where they found out about the Mayan god of the feast, Voodah. They had faux stone cut walls, with really neat designs.

After dinner, we headed to the Playhouse, and saw "Funny Face" on the big screen!!
I got pictures of the playhouse, it's so palatial!

My sweetie is so handsome!
