The Great Escape

Pretty Orange Lionhead Rabbit
So, yesterday, my son went downstairs and decided to help with the bunny. (I had been in the cage earlier, cleaning and sweeping, and giving her food.)

I came down later, and the cage door was open, and.... there was NO bunny! LOL. There was a pair of scissors, a few foamie cars, some playdoh, and the dustpan.

Frappie had a fun vacation in the basement all the way until this morning. I couldn't get her, she kept hiding in the gap in the heater and water heater. Yikes.

Well, today I got drastic, and brought down Vanilla Wafers, put them in her cage, and rattled around until I knew she heard me. She didn't budge, so I rooted her out with a long wrapping paper tube. She ran to the other side of the cage, and I shooed her in the right direction. Finally, she hopped right back into her cage, and I was able to close the door. Frappie enjoyed her Nilla Wafers, and I got the zip ties, and closed the door permanently. I can step over the side, but I had the door, so it would be easier for me if I didn't feel like stepping over. Now, at least I know a little boy can't sneak down, and open it.

If You're Wondering

If you come over my house, and you wonder why the dishes aren't done, or the garbage isn't taken out, or the house isn't dusted, here are are few reasons why I might have been otherwise busy. EEP.

Cleaning up cookie sprinkles from the couch because my son emptied the jar
Cleaning up formula powder because he decided to make a car track
Cleaning up pee soaked sheets, bouncer fabric, pillows etc.
Cleaning up poopy diapers and pullups
Cleaning the rabbit's cage
Cleaning baby clothes, boy clothes, husband clothes, wife clothes
Cleaning bottles
Cleaning a baby's room
Cleaning a 4 year old's room (a monumental task, with toys usually taking over the whole house)
Cleaning a husband/wife's room
Feeding a baby, burping a baby, holding a baby
Feeding a 4 year old,
Feeding myself (usually still while holding the baby
Feeding my poor husband who usually has to fend for himself
Giving a baby a bath, a 4 year old a bath, myself a bath (usually these are bottom rung on the to do list.)
Trying to figure out the bills that are ALL overdue.
Trying to sell things on eBay to make a little more money to pay for these overdue bills.
Trying to declutter the house, because it collects more JUNK than a landfill.
Putting in another video, or DVD, or another DVR event
Making a playdoh car for the 50th time
Drawing a car, train, truck, Herbie for the oh don't make me count-th time
Pouring milk for the millionth
Giving medicine
Giving spankings
Giving much needed snuggles to a baby and a 4 year old who too rarely gives them
Sweeping up the food, toys, tape, paper, and everything imaginable off the floor
Going to the store
Going to church
Going Bonkers because every time I try to actually get a project done, it gets interrupted by one child or another, or some accident, or new mess
Escaping to the internet to vent
Escaping to my room to lie down
Escaping to the bunny's cage to calm down
Taking pain killer so I can keep doing all the above with a constant sore back, sore shoulders, headache, and neckache.

Paper Bag

Photobucket
I am so glad I started back on my bunny forums! They're reminding me of all kinds of fun things for Frappie.
I got out a paper bag today, and sat with her while she had fun exploring it. :)

Frappie is now one of my escape areas in the house. LOL. Today, I was not feeling well, and had tried to lay down. I couldn't calm down, so I headed downstairs, and just chilled on the floor with Frappie. I noticed after only a few minutes how relaxed I felt. I'm so thankful for her.

ICE for Cell Phones

"We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory but nobody, other than ourselves, knows which of these numbers belong to our closest
family or friends.

If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call. Yes, there are
hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this "ICE" (In Case of Emergency) Campaign

The concept of "ICE" is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As cell phones are carried by the majority of the population,
all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name "ICE" ( In Case Of Emergency).

The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't
know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose. In an emergency
situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital Staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as
"ICE."

For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc.
Or ICE-Husband
ICE-Mom
ICE-Dad

A Washington Post story said that if your mom or dad are elderly and couldn't respond or help in an emergency situation, to list your number 1 and number
2 as Emergency Contacts. (That is also a good thought -- and one I immediately didn't think about - but since this is for an emergency contact -- it is good I
went searching this story out before sending it on.)

Let's spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our Mobile phones today!

A great idea that will make a difference!

Please forward this. It won't take too many "forwards" before everybody will know about this It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest .

ICE will speak for you when you are not able to.

Have a Great Day!"

I looked it up on Snopes, and it had great info!

It mentioned that it's a good idea to put ICE numbers by your ID too, so people can identify you and know who to call. They said just in case you're not next to your phone, or purse.

I really like this idea.

Oh the Cuddling!

Photobucket

Frappie let me cuddle with her today! It was a big deal for me. I've been working up to it, and until today, she just jumped back out of my arms. I didn't push it, but I kept trying.
Photobucket
Today, I picked her up, and cuddled her by my neck, and she just let me pet her, and cuddle, and rub my chin on her. She's so soft. It was a beautiful moment.

It's late and I need to go to bed, but I had to post this.

Frappie in Her Room 12/30/06

Frappie is pretty much already potty trained. It's kind of in their nature to want to go in the same place, so all I had to do was leave her cage open, and she just hops back in there to eat and stuff. Since she's so good about not leaving messes, I've been just letting her have the run of the spare room. I got a baby gate up, so I can look in on her, and go in and out easily. Once I bunny proof the living room, I'll let her in there too. :)

The thing I love about this is that I can GET inside with her. lol.
I sit in there with her, and Gabey can't come in. She's calm, and lets me pet her, and she doesn't have to run away from Gabey. LOL.

Fine for her, not good for us

i don't know what i was thinking, putting Frappie in the kitchen....

so, now, she's in the living room for the time being.
I'm thinking about making up an idea cube run for her in the basement, so she has a good amount of space to move around, and get excercise.

New Pics of Frappie!

Here's my baby! We started out with her in the basement, but I hated the idea of maybe missing out on seeing her all the time, if I don't get to go downstairs. Plus, it's a little chilly downstairs.

It isn't the most ideal place, but there's nowhere else to put her. So, she's in the kitchen, lol. We never use the table to eat anyway.
Photobucket

Look how long she's gotten! She takes up her whole hutch, when she lays down. She's so gorgeous. If we move to a bigger place, I totally want to get one of those multi level cages for her. :)

My sister and Shelly dropped off Frappie the other day! She's looking so great. She got some awesome care and love while she was at Shelly's house.
I have her in the kitchen right now. There's really no other place for her. I started with her in the basement, but really want to be able to have her with us all the time, and I don't get downstairs every day. Now, she's up with us, and I can see her all the time.

She still has her cool mane.

So, I've started my Bunny blog up again. Yippeee! Look in my links to visit.

Gabey's Snow Day with Daddy

Gabey got to play in the snow with Jeff on Friday. Jeff had a few days off of work, and I was so happy that he took some time to make some great memories with Gabey.
They made a snowman, and took thousands of runs around the yard in Gabey's new sled.

Viddy Ohs

This is a cute video of Gabey bouncing Gideon in his bouncer. Gideon is really getting expressive, and it's really easy to make him smile, and laugh, AND talk.

Jeff was being goofy with Gideon, and I had to video tape it.
This is "Gideon's morning workout"

Catchup

I need to play catchup. It's been weeks.

Here is a slideshow of our New Years...

and here's a slideshow of our dinner at Jeff's sister, Kris' new house.
