My world is not very big. I have a home and family. I am a child to my Savior, a mom to my 2 boys, a wife to my husband, and a best friend to my sister. I love my little world and wouldn't trade it for anything. What else is there than to love and be loved, to care for and be cared for, to teach and be taught?

"Do the 'Do"- Sock Bun
This is one of my favorite hairdos, and it has a craft to do for it too!
It is a sock bun. It will work for long or short hair.
You just need some old socks with higher ankles. If you have light hair, you'll want to use light colored socks, and the opposite for dark hair.
Here is the sock bun craft step by step:
1. Find some socks, I used 3, but it depends on how big or small you want it. I have a lot of hair, lol.
2. Cut off the feet.
3. Put the sock tubes inside eachother, if you have more than one.
4. Roll the sock tubes inside out to make a donut.
5. You can stitch these together if you want. I actually never have, I just use them as is.
Now, here is a step by step on how to put one in your hair....
1. Make a ponytail (use a smaller rubberband so it will hide well), and put the sock bun around it.
2. Spread your hair around the bun, this will take practice to get it from showing gaps.
3. Put a ponytail around that to keep it in place, this will take practice too.
4. I usually put a larger scrunchie around that to cover up the ponytail, and make it look more like a bun.
5. You can either braid the rest, and wrap it around the bun, or leave it loose. If you have short hair, this will look really cute, with your hair in little fan-like spikes around the bun.
Visit with My Mom
My mom came over Thursday, and we got to chat for quite a while. My dad came over and brought pizza rolls, and then worked in the back yard on the garage. Here is a really nice picture of my mom, and Gabey.
I got a ton of pictures and video of Gabey playing in the back yard. It finally wasn't raining (for like 2 hours, LOL.) We haven't played outside for a while. It's always rainy and cold now, and muddy, yuck.
Gabey pushing his truck around.
Gabey and I did some crafts on Thursday too. We made his church bank better, and did some other crafts too.
His bank, a sticker project, and a cute little foamy frame.
This one was fun, made out of food! LOL!

God is REAL.
The heavens declare the Glory of God, and the firmament showeth His handiwork!
Look at this leaf! It's so intricate, like a watercolors, flowing from green to yellow. God made this leaf.
God made this flower too, and the gorgeous maple leaf.
None of this just happened. We are not here by chance. What we do matters, to others and to God. Young person, you MATTER, to others, and to GOD. Adult, what you are today matters to God, He made you, and loves you. He sent Jesus to earth to die on the cross to pay for your sins. Trust Him, not works, not baptism, just HIM. He is the only way to Heaven, and to fellowship God.

Fall Harvest Fest
Our church had a fun Harvest Fest last night, and we were able to take Gabey.
Chrissy volunteered to help in the Kitchen.
Gabey was hillarious for the games, he would go right up to the board and just put the stuff in. He did it for this basketball, and an acorn toss game too.
Skiball with Daddy
Crafts with Mommy
I had to put these in! My good friend Katie, being VELCRO-ed!
Katie midair!
Gabey spent a lot of time running up and down the hall. I think he's lot like me, we get a bit overwhelmed in crowds. I tend to want to find a quiet nook too. I think he's taking after me.

Gabey's New Game Craze
Gabey's entering a new phase. He's discovered our game shelf. He's been pulling all the games off the shelf and "playing" the games. We are not following one rule! It's been a lot of fun, but it's hard too, because he doesn't want to clean up one before he goes on to the next. LOL.
Right now, we're using chess pieces as obstacle course poles for his matchbox cars.

A Few Pictures of PA
Here are a few pictures from my PA trip. I haven't gotten any more up yet.
I did not like these tunnels.
This was the weather most of the week, but Jeff kept driving.
Cool Children's Museum
(sorry, I took this picture out, didn't realize the statue wasn't the most modest statue, lol.)
Gabey playing with the sand art, it would be projected on the screen on the wall.
Car Track.
Gabey finds trains everywhere we go. He cried when we had to leave this one.
They had a great Mr. Roger's Neighborhood exhibit, with all the puppets and fun stuff to play with.
Gabey and I had fun playing in this.... it's RICE. (the photo is not of Gabey, lol. I don't know who it is. lol.)
Beautiful drive to Falling Water
Jeff and I had a great tour of the house at Falling Water, and LOVED it.
Since children aren't allowed on the tour, they had a children's playroom. Chrissy watched Gabey so we could go on the tour.

Problems with Pictures
Oh man, i've had so many problems with these pictures. I forgot to bring my data cable on vacation, and had to put them on cd, but I can't get them off without downloading the program, which messes with all my other pictures on my computer. Yikes. So i've been trying to get them online without downloading them, and then saving them to my computer from online, what a pain, lol. I got them all to snapfish, and then was saving them to my computer, but accidentally saved them ALL as thumbnails! Needless to say, it may be a little while before I get all the pictures in the right places.
I'm going to Flower Factory today to get some stuff to make a costume for Gabey. They're dressing as Bible characters in Glory Stars, so I'm going to let him be "Gabriel"! LOL! I'm going to try to find a horn and everything!

Postcards from the Hotel
Hey!! We're in the hotel! LOL! We've been having a great week. So far, we've gone to the Children's Museum, The National Aviary, The Pittsburg Zoo, and to Amish Country.
It's been an adventure, and so much fun! My sweetie has done all the driving, and he's been AMAZING! The roads are under construction, and winding, and hilly. I'm so thankful he's been willing to do it.
Yesterday, we went to Amish country, and tried to find a restaurant. There was only one sign, so we turned down the street. It was a tiny gravel street going through the woods, so hilly and winding. I made jokes that the sign was a ruse, and that bandits put it up to lure people into the woods, YIKES. When we finally got to the restaurant, IT WAS CLOSED for a private party! We were having a heart attack, and starving already. We laughed so hard. After driving around, we found the coolest little Amish salvage foods store. I took a picture of their gas lights. We got snacks and drinks, and got to talk to the people. Later, we found a really cute mercantile, and I took a picture of a beautiful Amish woman at the counter. After she left, the storekeeper told me..."Did you know it is against their religion to get their picture taken?" Oh, I felt terrible! I rushed out, and stopped her in her buggy! I told her I didn't know, and that I had deleted the picture off my camera for her. She thanked me, and smiled. I felt such a load off. I would never have wanted to make her feel bad. I could imagine how she felt, that I might have ruined her entire day. I did get some nice buggy pictures and a picture of a house with clothes on the line.
Tomorrow, we have an appointment for a tour of Fallingwater! I'm very excited!
Gabey has been great, we've been going swimming in the pool here, and he's been having a blast!
I'll post pictures when I get back home. :):)

What a Sweetheart!
I wrote the note to the sweet lady in church, whose grandson I made a silly comment about on Wednesday. I didn't even know how to word it, I was so embarrassed. BUT, I had to do it. Well, tonight after the service, she came up to me, and was just such a sweetie! She said she didn't even remember what I said, and that she wanted to thank me for the work I did in there, leading the singing. I just wanted to hug her! I love the people in my church!
Hit the Open Road!
Well, tomorrow, we're on our way! My sister is coming with us to PA for the week. Our first real vacation since Gabey was born. I'm quite excited! I have all of Gabey's "Thomas Take-alongs", ROTFL. He gets so attached to toys, I'm so worried he'll wake up one night, and cry for a toy we don't have with us.
I'm hoping to go see Fallingwater while we're there. I was there once in college, and would love to go again. Frank Lloyd Wright is my favorite architect(probably many people's favorite.) Well, actually, I really don't know any others. I never really looked farther than his work, I enjoyed it so much.
Also, we are hoping to go to Idlewild for the day on Saturday (they aren't open during the week anymore, much to our disappointment.)
Other than that, our week is open, and free, and highly anticipated.
Pray for us. We don't have far to travel, but any trip is in need of protection.
I may post during the week, as my sister is bringing her laptop. However, I am promising nothing, LOL. I may take a vacation from the computer also.
Side note, I won't need to be doing the Monday Menu Plan, WOOOHOOOO, I won't be cooking!! HA HA!

Dorothy's Garden: Wash Day
Dorothy's Garden: Wash Day
My mom posted about how the wonderful Amish women wash their clothes. I need to remember that I have it so easy.

Childhood Toy and First Snow
Does anyone remember this toy? My family had it growing up, and we gave it to my nephew when he was a baby. I'm so thankful he took such good care of it, because now, my son loves it! It's sweet to see my own son enjoy toys I loved as a child. I should take pictures of the Little People sets we still have. We packed them in the attic, and now Gabey loves playing with them.
Well, we had our first snow. Luckily, it was just a few flurries.
I took video and pictures of it. I've become the daily tourist, with this digital camera. Everything is graced with a picture.

Animal Crossing
I started my mom on a Nintendo Game Cube game, called Animal Crossing. I'm not a video game person. I'm too easily stressed, LOL. This game is unlike any other I've played, and I've been hooked on it since Gabey was born. I have 4 characters, and over 15 million dollars among them. The game never ends, you can just go into it and play whenever. It's in real time, so you have your seasons and days, and special events in certain months. You can set the time though to be what you want, whenever. The character is a cute little boy or girl, who moves into a town of animals. She must work to pay off her house, and do odd jobs for neighbors, and plant and fish, and catch bugs. They're pretty rude, that's the only thing I'm not totally approving of, like they insult you (and they have Halloween, and a fortune teller, but you don't have to do those parts at all.) It's pretty funny, and you can write goofy letters to them to get them back. It's absolutely a game for everyone. Here are some pictures I got of some of the milestones in the game. Plus, I just did a train on Blanca's face, just for Gabey. (Blanca comes to you with no face, and you must draw one for her! LOL.) (I made the pictures smaller, but I think if you click on them, you'll be able to zoom in.)
Saving 10 million "bells"
Catching Every Kind of Fish (you can see, I got stung by a bee in this one.)
This is Jeff's character, and his board full of coelecanth (the hardest one to catch!)
This is the character I just made, Emily, since the other characters had so much money, I just had them give some to her, and she paid off her house and all it's upgrades right away.
