I love you even when....

I love you, Giddy.

I love you even when you put stuff in my coffee, like life cereal, and matchbox cars, and I have to fish them out, and scrap the coffee.

I love you even when you scream and cry the minute I lay you down for bedtime (and I let you because I'm so tired of this routine) and I find out the next morning that you got yourself so mad that you puked (noodles that dried like cement all over the floor and crib).

I love you even when you call people with my cell phone because you're chewing it and pushing buttons.

I love you even when we go outside, and I find you sitting in a mud puddle eating the muddy rocks.

I love you even when you pull out the Wii TV plugs, or pull the gamecube down off the shelf.

I love you even when you find the styrofoam inside a random box, and spread it all over, and eat it, and puke it up all over the floor.

I love you even when you find a way to open the babyproof gate, and try to sneak down the basement stairs, giving mommy a heart attack.

I love you even when you put all the wrong things into the garbage, and take all the wrong things out.

I love you even when you rip up library books (I'm going to be in so much trouble.)

Giddy. Even with all these things that you do that drive me insane. I still love you like crazy, and think you're the most beautiful boy I've ever laid eyes on.

Today's Flowers

I'm so excited that I can post a Today's Flowers actually on the day I took the picture! LOL. I went outside and hunted the very first baby signs of spring.
I found some little violets, some myrtle, some daffodil, and the very first forsythia bud.

Red Envelope Day!!

Red Envelope Day!

Don't forget that tomorrow is Red Envelope Day. Get an empty red envelope, and stamp it, address it (hand written only) to
President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave. N. W.
Washington, D.C. 20500

Then on the back of the sealed envelope write..
"This envelope represents one child who died in abortion. It is empty because that life was unable to offer anything to the world. Responsibility begins with conception."

Don't write anything else. This is a simple statement, polite, but to the point. We want to let Mr. Obama know that his decisions to overturn all the protection for life is NOT going unnoticed.

Mellow Yellow Monday

My goodness, once you start looking for yellow, it becomes so easy to find it! I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to put in this week.
This pillow is from my Grandma, the nurses would give her the supplies when she was in the hospital, and she would tie these pillows together. It's so soft and sweet, I'm glad my sister gave me the care of it.

I have a collection of Baby Trolls, and so many of them have yellow hair, lol.

Yellow is so cheery, it's just the perfect thing for a dreary Monday. Check out the list of other blogs that are helping make Monday... Mellow Yellow!

Dan Zanes "Catch that Train"

I have 0 Puppies in my hand

Gabey's playing his computer game that shows numbers and letters. He commented how nothing was showing up when he pushed the zero button.
I was explaining, that is what zero means.

I said... "I have zero puppies in my hand." and I showed him my empty hand.
I asked, "How many puppies do you have in your hand?"
and he held up his hand and said....

"SIX!"

I just laughed and laughed!

My German Baby

My boy likes sourkrout! Gotta love that German stock. I gave him some tonight, thinking he'd make a face, but he didn't. He just stood there, with his mouth open until i had shared my whole dinner with him. LOL.

God's Embroidery

God's Embroidery (author unknown)

When I was a little girl, my Mother used to embroider a great deal. I would sit at her knee and look up from the floor and ask what she was doing. She informed me that she was embroidering. I told her that it looked like a mess from where I was. As from the underside, I watched her work with it in the boundaries of the little round hoop that she held in her hand. I complained to her that is sure looked messy from where I sat.She would smile at me, look down and gently say, "My daughter, you go about playing for awhile, and when I am finished with my embroidering, I will put you on me knee and let you see it from my side." I would wonder why she was using some dark threads along with the bright ones, and why they seemed so jumbled from my view. A few minutes would pass, and then I would hear Mother's voice say "Come and sit on my knee."This I did, only to be surprised and thrilled to see a beautiful flower or a sunset. I could not believe it, because from underneath, it looked so messy. Then Mother would say to me, "From underneath, it did look messy and jumbled, but you did not realize that there was a pre-drawn plan on the top. It was a design. I was following it. Now look at it from my side and you will see what I was doing."Many times through the years, I have looked up to my Heavenly Father and said, "Father, what are you doing?" He has answered, "I am embroidering your life." I say, "But it looks like a mess to me. It seems so jumbled. The threads seems so dark. Why can't they all be bright?" The Father seems to tell me, "My child, you go about your business of doing, and one day I will bring you to Heaven and put you on my knee, and you will see the plan from My side."**Author Unknown

Such Low Counts

We need prayer this next few weeks. We went to Gabey's monthly appointment, and his counts came back severely neutropenic... 360. It was a real shock, and my stomach has just been in a knot, every time I think about it. The past few months they kept upping the doses, and a few weeks ago, he got sick, and I'm sure that was a big factor. We've been to the mall this week, he even was digging in the back yard when the weather was nice a week ago. Eek. I just have to thank God, and pray that He continues to protect Gabey.
He's going to go off chemo for 2 weeks, and go in for an appointment to check how he's doing. He'll probably be fine by then. Soo, we have to remember to be strict again for a while, so we can keep him from catching anything. I'm so glad he's energetic, and feeling just fine. You'd never know anything's wrong.
Pray that his body will build back up, and that he won't get any fevers, or catch anything. What a time for it, viruses going around like crazy.

I Believe in Vaccinations!!

I have felt sooo horrible all day. I finally took Gideon in for a catchup on his vaccinations. I have no excuse. I haven't brought him in for a wellness exam since he was like 2 months old. SOOO BAD ME!!!

Ok, now, I feel better.

We're going to be going every 2 months for a little while to catch him up on all his vacs.

It's crazy. I've always been soo all for vaccinations. I don't understand moms who choose not to vaccinate. These are epidemic diseases. But, now I can't get on a soapbox ever again about it, because I let my boy go without updating vacs for a year. Ah well, we're on the right track now.

He's a little toughie. I gave him some motrin, and he's doing fine, just the mild stuff that comes with vacs.. sore legs, fussiness, etc.

He Gave Me Such a Gift, He Protected Us

I was supposed to go out to lunch with jeffie, since he's working at the lakewood post office now. I was all excited, but I got a text not to come, and that he'd explain it to me later. I was so bummed. We picked him up after work, and it turns out that there was a murderer loose, and was last seen heading toward 117th (where we were meeting, and where his actual route is). The man had taken his family's lives, and Jeff learned later in the day that he was found, and had taken his own life. When he told me this, I just welled up with tears. I love him so much. He was thinking of our safety, and didn't want us anywhere near there. LOL, he didn't tell me about it until afterwards, because he knew I'd be so worred that he still had to carry near there.I just wanted to brag on him for a little bit. We all need to brag on our love more often, they do so much for us.

Two Pics of Giddy

Taffy checking out her new stuff

My sister gave us her cute little parakeet, Taffy. We've been enjoying her immensely. Today, I got her a new food dish and water dish. I opened the cage to install them, and she flew out. Giddy was so excited. He kept trying to touch her. She would fly around, and land on the floor, and he would get right next to her and crouch down, to touch her. She wouldn't let him though. She ended up flying into the kitchen, and I rescued her with a towel, and put her safely back in the cage. I'd love to someday be able to train her, but ah, for now, she's just a lil' wild one.

She's spent all afternoon, checking the new items out. She has to make sure they're not "enemies" LOL. So far, she feels great about the water dish, and is on to discovering her food dish. She keeps making her way over to look at it, and just a second ago, she was brave enough to bite at the top of the silo with her beak. That was good enough for the moment, and she flew to the other side to be with her mirror friend, "Taffay" (Gabey named her mirror friend.)

Taffy loves her mirror friend, and sleeps next to him and talks to it, and nuzzles it. Her bell toy, is her rival. It's so funny to see her "fight" it. She'll bite it and flap her wings at it.

The Dangers of a Critical Spirit

Photobucket

2 Samuel 6:15-16 "So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart."

2 Samuel 6:20-23 "Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!
And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.
And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.
Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death."

This passage has come up twice for me in 2 days. I think that's shows that it wants to be noticed.
Our evangelist preached on this passage last night... about the dangers of a critical spirit.

Michal had a critical spirit, and it limited her view of the blessings... he pointed out that she wasn't down with everyone praising the Lord, but up looking out a tiny window... a lot of times people with a critical spirit "know" that their view is the best one... it robs you from seeing blessings. David was doing all this for the Lord, and the Bible doesn't say at all the the Lord was displeased by any of what happened.

Secondly, it makes you become "bound by bitterness" Poor Michael was so bitter. She had such a rough life. But bitterness will eat away at you, and ruin you.

The third point was how having a critical spirit causes you to be "branded by barreness" people will notice something's not right, and distance themselves... your Christian life, your friendships... everything will suffer.

It was such a good message, I really needed it.
Then, today, I stopped by my friend, Kristi's blog, and she had the same passage for the same theme. EErie, lol. Here is the link to her blog about it.... http://kristi71.blogspot.com/2009/02/inappropriateness-or-personal.html

Good for You, Dad!

A few weeks ago, my dad got bad news from the doctor. He went in for a swollen wrist that wasn't healing, and they took some tests. Tests are always scary. They came back that the wrist was from gout, from his high blood pressure. Also, though, they showed that his sugar counts were over 400. Diabetes. My dad has always been healthy, fighting through every physical obstacle, and praise the Lord, this moment was no different. Since finding out how his his sugar was, my dad has gotten a monitor, and taken his counts twice a day, and totally changed his diet. He has cut out sugar quite a lot, and with the double problem of high blood pressure, he's also having to cut out a lot of the high sodium processed foods too. Patty Nanna, his wife, and a great stepmommy, has just been a trouper in helping find and cook foods that will help him. His counts have steadily been lowering, and today, he told me that his blood sugar was 100!!! That count is normal! PRAISE a GREAT GOD!! Now, he's going to have to keep dealing with this, but he may be able to fight this with diet and excercise alone, I'm so thankful. Good for you, Daddy! I'm so proud of you!

great job smiley

What Giddy Does While I'm working, LOL.

I need to write this down. This kind of thing happens all the time.

I put Giddy in the playpen so I could do the dishes, and when I came back in, he had ripped down the decorations off our window and was ripping them up.

After dinner, I cleaned off the stove and did some pots, and came back into the living room to Giddy eating a dry erase marker, and red marks all over the wood floor. (I'm so thankful that they clearly mark "Non Toxic" on these things)

Later, I ran down and did a little laundry and came back to the entire box of cheerios on the kitchen floor, and Giddy eating it by the fistful. I actually wish I had a photo of it, as he's just a beautiful boy, and even looks cute sitting in a pile of cheerios stuffing his face.

A lot of times, Gabey is a big help, and tattles or snatches things away, LOL. He's been off his game today.
